THE CLABA ARCHIVE
Inside the game.
Its history, its ideas and the reasons to come back.
A banner flutters behind two generals, and the space between their weapons keeps closing. Sango Fighter is a fighting game from Panda Entertainment for DOS, released in 1993. Its bouts pit characters from the Three Kingdoms against each other in settings with soldiers, mountains and fortifications. This RetroBat copy keeps the introduction and menus in English, alongside the title drawn in Chinese characters.
The menu offers Story Mode, Battle, Two Players and Options. The campaign uses maps and text to present the action; Battle lets you move on to choosing a fighter and start the duels. A row of portraits shows the available generals, with the name of the selected character below. Guan Yu appears with his signature curved-blade weapon.
Reach, time and attacks
The fight takes place on a side-view plane. The bottom scoreboard shows the bars of the two opponents and the time remaining. Characters can approach, back away and attack, and some moves launch effects that travel across the stage. Staying at a distance does not guarantee safety from projectiles, either.
It pays to learn first how long a blow takes and how far it reaches. An attack can miss because your opponent has stepped aside; advancing while they prepare a response can leave you within their reach. The left-hand keyboard layout controls the first player with A and D to move, Tab to strike and Left Shift for the kick.
A presentation with its own resources
The introduction shows horsemen against a sunset and presents the conflict with text in English. That authentic scene serves as the background of this game page. The cover art comes from the RetroBat collection, and the gameplay screenshots were captured from its DOS executable. Sango Fighter 2 has its own game page: it is another installment in the series, with a different cast and presentation.

THE SECRET SIDE OF THE GAME
Tips, tricks and secrets.
A hint at the right time. A code that changes everything.
Tip: practice the retreat
Try an attack and then back off to a safe distance. Pressing repeatedly while you are right next to your opponent makes it easier for their response to reach you before you complete your next move.
Tip: watch the scoreboard too
Health and time are in the bottom strip. Check how much margin you have left before closing in again; continuing to throw attacks from afar burns time without guaranteeing a hit.
Tip: learn one general
Repeat the first fights with the same character to recognize their animations and reach. The opponents keep attacks of their own, so switching generals is no substitute for learning when to back off.

THE NEXT STEP, CLEARER
Guides to move forward.
From the first installation to that mission that won't give in.
Start with Battle
After the introduction and the title, select Battle in the menu with the arrow keys and confirm with Enter. Choose a general and confirm again. Wait for the Fight prompt to disappear before you start moving: while the stage is being entered, the game is still presenting the duel.
Left-hand keyboard layout
The first player uses A and D to move, W to jump and X to crouch. Tab performs the strike and Left Shift the kick. The Options menu lets you review the assignment. If you select a different keyboard or joystick, the keys that control the character change as well.
Options and returning to the menu
Options shows the assignments for the two players and three difficulty levels, represented by flames. Esc lets you leave that panel. During fights, use the player's pause control when you want to stop and review the controls; that pause halts the emulation.
Download and sources
The download preserves the RetroBat DOS copy. To play outside the browser, run SANGO.EXE inside a DOS emulator. The official Super Fighter Team website preserves information and a DOS edition of the game. Our key mapping was checked against the documentation included in the other variant in the collection and against a fight in this copy.
